She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Carroll Wathen, Jr., Heather Wathen Nichols, Amanda Chandler, Courtney Chandler, Victoria Tucker, and Blaine Tucker. Four great-grand children Abigail Nichols, Autumn Rae Wathen, Nathanael Nichols, and John Carter Gooden.
She was a member of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church for over 50 years and a member of the Ladies Altar Society there. She was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Thomasine was known as a wonderful cook who loved to show her love with her cooking and always taking care of those around her. She loved to tell funny stories about things (and always swore that she was remembering it right!). She loved doing things with family and friends. We used to tell her that she would “help you to death” because she would always try to fix you by bringing you food, drink, a pillow or whatever she thought would make you happy. Her best friend Barbara McNabb was the Thelma to mom’s Louise and they were like the golden girls doing various things (usually stuff old ladies are not supposed to do!). She valued her friendship with Barbara so very much. They talked daily if not a couple of times per day discussing new recipes or what they were planning to cook. Thomasine lived with Katie on the river for the last 4 years and always said she felt closest to Cruz while looking at the water. She said that living in a river cabin brought her more peace than living in town and said all the time that she wanted to die on the river. She prayed often and when things got bad, she would pray with Katie. She loved all of her children and each were special to her in their own way. Her proudest achievement were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church with funeral mass to follow. Burial will be in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Father Anthony Weis officiating.
