William David "Bill" Maynord
August 21, 1930 — June 7, 2021
William David “Bill” Maynord, 90, of Hueytown, passed away June 7, 2021. He was born August 21, 1930.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Taylor Maynord, his mother, Sarah, father, Bruce, and two sisters, Dundas Fowler and Shirley Harding. He is survived by three daughters, Cindy Jones, Terry Knighten, and Kelly Adamson, two granddaughters (Misty and Molly), two great-granddaughters (Taylor and Kendall), and many others.
Bill was a graduate of Phillips High School and spent time in the US Air Force before moving back to Birmingham. He loved life, golf, his family, and Alabama football.
His friends were always very important to him, whether it was the Norwood Ragamuffins, The Fort Walton Beach River Rats, or the solid group of friends who played golf together every chance they got.
If you ever met Bill (with two LL’s, as he would introduce himself), you never forgot him. He was usually cracking a joke and loved to be the life of the party.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2021 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with the funeral beginning at 12:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. David Nuckels officiating.
And he had more strength in his little finger than most cats have in their whole bodies.
We love him and we will miss him.
