Wanda Baker Hartley

Wanda Baker Hartley, of Pleasant Grove, passed away on January 18, 2021 at the age of 74. She worked for the Jefferson County School System for more than 30 year and was currently the Office Manager at Hueytown High School. Wanda was a cancer survivor, a member of First Baptist Church Pleasant Grove, and a non-professional professional baker. She was a lover of all things Hueytown High School, Alabama football, and the beach, but the true joy in her life was her four grandchildren. She was always making sure they were well taken care of, sent them surprises in the mail, and made sure to attend school and sporting events whenever she could. She is preceded in death by her parents, Felton and Ida Baker; sister, Saundra Vantine; and brother, Bud Baker. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hartley; daughters, Julie Phipps (Joe) and Jennifer Hankins (Joel); grandchildren, Jacob and Jessa Phipps, Hartley and Miller Hankins; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Rev. James L. Parker officiating.
