Walter Leon Harmon

Walter Leon Harmon, of Bessemer, passed away on February 1, 2021 at the age of 89. He was a longtime member of Harvest Baptist Church in Rock Creek. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Muggie Harmon; his wife of more than 65 years, Loretta Higgins Harmon; brothers, Donnie Harmon, Erskine "Buddy" Harmon; sisters, Jane Harmon, Edna Davidson and Louise "Sissy" Quinn. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Harmon Tatum (Garry), Teresa Harmon Moore (Duke); son, Rodney Leon Harmon (Carol); grandchildren, Kayla Tatum (Lauren), Melissa Donaldson (Chris), Andrea Mitchell, Niki Hooten (Nick), Blake Moore (Staci), Joe "Tre' Moore, Shane Harmon (Shelly), Brandon Harmon (Amy) and Brad Harmon (Danada); 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Bro. Tony Wilmouth officiating. Social distancing and masks are required.
