Virginia S. Porter

Virginia Strawbridge Porter, 90, of Pleasant Grove, passed away early Thanksgiving morning, November 24, 2022. More than anything, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She retired from South Central Bell, and was a devoted member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, where she founded the Children’s Puppet Ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gwin Porter; daughter, Gina Carol Porter; parents, Charlie and Laura Strawbridge; sisters and brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Douglas; granddaughters, Emily Baird {Brandon} and Sarah James; great-grandchildren, Carter James, Brooks Baird, and Madeline Baird; sister, Lenora Burnett; brother, Charles Strawbridge {Diane}; nieces and nephews, and many special family and friends. Visitation is Thursday, December 1, 2022 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with the service beginning at 2:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens, Rev. Jerry Sherrill
