U. James Bruner

U. James Bruner(Cooter) was called to his Heavenly home, August 26, 2023, at the age of 86. He served our country with the U.S. Army from 1961-1966, from there he worked with Alabama Power Co., Peabody Coal, and later retired from Jim Walter Mines #7. He was affiliated with the Birmingham Bicycle Club, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Make a Wish Foundation, and many other charity rides throughout his riding days. He was a long time member of Oak Grove 2nd Baptist, which has changed names a few times during the years. He is preceded in death by his father Willie Bruner, mother Virgie Bruner, Bonnie Humphreys, brother, Milton Bruner, sister, Norma Jean Walker, granddaughter, Jessie Bruner and grandson Colton Bruner. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Martha Jean Bruner, son, Yul Wayne Bruner(Debbie), son, Terry Bruner(Jessica), his little girl always Angel White(Jonathan), 7 amazing grandchildren, 6 precious great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2023, 5:00PM-7:00PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 10:00AM with burial following in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens.
