Sharon Jean Bryant
January 22, 1946 — February 1, 2025
Sharon Jean Bryant, age 79, of McCalla passed away at UAB Medical West Hospital on February1, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 22, 1946 to the late Frank Stanley and Helen Joyce Woodward Cook. she is also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Oliver Bryant; son, Andrew Frank Dunbar and brother, Frankie Cook, Jr.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Randy Van Blaricum (Kristin) and Amy Lynn Van Blaricum; her sister, Joyce Diane Brady (Jeff); brother, Robert Anthony Cook (Melissa); grandchildren, Scotty Van Blaricum and Anna Kate Henson and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was known as the "Candy Lady", having a booth set up for many years at Tannehill and then opening her shop at her home. She enjoyed making her candies and meeting her customers when they would come by to visit. She loved her Corgi's, Kipper and Nugget, and would often joke about being a queen; after all, "the Queen of England has Corgi's, too", she would say.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will held at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until service time.
