Sandra K. Hart (aka Sandy), age 76, of Mt. Olive, Alabama, entered her eternal home on November 10, 2024 at UAB Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1947, in Tupelo, Mississippi to Aaron and Sue Kennedy. She graduated from Gordo High School in 1965, then received her cosmetology license from a technical school in Birmingham. After over a 30 year career as a hairdresser, Sandy retired and enrolled in Bessemer Technical College where she received her business degree at the age of 49 which spoke of her strong determination and resilience to life.
As a dedicated Christian, she had a tremendous love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whom she spoke of often. Sandy attended Christway Church of God in Gardendale. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and was a testament to her kindness, faith, and loyalty. She treated everyone like family. Her genuine love for people led her to become an organ donor. Sandy’s true calling and greatest joy was her family, and she was always their steadfast supporter and biggest fan. She loved doing anything that involved her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting, singing, playing cards, drawing, and teaching. Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and an enduring example of what it means to be a servant of God and a loving mother and grandmother.
We can only imagine how glorious it was for her to walk through the Golden Gates of Heaven and see her loved ones there to greet her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Sue Kennedy of Northport, Alabama, and her sister Elois Zeanah also of Northport. Survivors include her children: Andria Smith, Greg Hart, and Stuart Hart, brothers: David (Vicki) Kennedy and Carl (Marsha) Kennedy; sisters: Emily Lloyd, Miriam (Ron) Delgado, and Jacquie Fortenberry; grandchildren: Brittany (Drew) Sanders, Brandi (Dylan) Hamblin, Corey Hart, Trinity Hart, and Ethan Hart; two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched.
Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2024 at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until service time.
