Ruben Foil Wilkinson

Ruben Foil Wilkinson, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. He was a 1966 graduate of Hueytown High School. After high school, he served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Ruben later went on to work and retire as a sergeant from the Fairfield Police Department. He was most proud of the time he spent there serving alongside his brothers in blue. He would often tell stories of his time on the police force with most of his stories focused on the people and camaraderie rather than events.
Ruben enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf, pool, and cards, visiting and talking with people, solving puzzles, and watching Alabama football. He is survived by his son Steven (La'Neia) Wilkinson; four grandchildren, Kiersten, Kaiden, Gunner, and Ryker Wilkinson; two sisters, Diana Zeanah and Gail (Kirk) Sanford; one brother, JD (Sharon) Wilkinson; niece, Karen Furlow and nephews Bobby Zeanah, Michael Zeanah, and Jeremy Wilkinson. Ruben is preceded in death by his father and mother, Russell and Lettie Bea Wilkinson, and brother-in-law, Perry Zeanah.
Funeral services will take place at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 18. Public visitation is at 1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Bro. Eric Taylor presiding. Burial service to immediately follow.
