Roy Eugene Stanford, age 60, of Woodstock, AL went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Roy was born June 8, 1960, the son of Ronie and Lucile Stanford.
Roy had a successful life with many accomplishments but his greatest joy was in Christian service to others. He was a faithful member of Green Pond Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served multiple tours throughout the world, a Mason, as well as a weekly card writer to the sick & homebound around him. He was employed for the previous 13 years with the U.S. Treasury in the I.T. sector.
For Roy, his faith was tangible and action-oriented. He had a great sense of humor and loved cheering up, and cheering on those around him. Roy proclaimed God’s goodness to each of us, and we rejoice in the knowledge that he is at rest in the presence of his Redeemer, Whom he so deeply loved.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Stanford. Children: Candis Marie Lawson (Steven), Anastasia Rebekah Halley Stanford, Dustin Lee Ross Stanford, Amy Kathleen Christina Stanford, Karoline Allison Leigh Stanford. Grandchildren: Chris, Katie, Xiloa, Dawson, Xavier, Rilah, Saije, Jaxton. Brothers: Ray Alan Stanford (Lisa) and Roger Dale Stanford (Monica). Nephews & Niece: Noah, Hannah, and Julian Stanford. Also special to our family, Ava Wyatt.
Roy leaves us a legacy of love and devotion to Christ and family, that we will honor going forward. Please join us in celebrating Roy’s life at Green Pond Baptist Church on Thursday May 13, 2021 visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with the funeral service starting at 12:00 PM, followed by a short graveside at Patterson-Forest Grove Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, AL.
