Roy Herrell Reinhardt, Jr., was born on April 26, 1949, in Birmingham, AL, and passed away at 72 years of age on March 6, 2022, at his home in Hueytown, AL, from complications due to lung cancer. Roy grew up in Pleasant Grove, Alabama, where he enjoyed hanging out with his friends, playing basketball, and playing his guitar. Throughout his life, Roy was an avid Alabama football fan (Roll Tide!), and he took a great interest in World War II, primarily because of his dad’s honorable service during that war. Additionally, Roy considered himself a poet and a songwriter and has written numerous pieces, which include poems, songs, and other types of literature on a range of topics. Roy was proud of his four years of service in the army during the Vietnam War where he primarily worked as a medic caring for the wounded. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruby Reinhardt, his wife, Debra Reinhardt, his son-in-law, James Dunkling, and former wife, Jody Canada. Roy is survived by his 4 children, son, Danny Reinhardt (Cindy); daughter, Jenny Dunkling; son, Billy Reinhardt (Jessica); daughter, Julie Bernat (Eddie); grandchildren, Rebecca Jolene McClew (Justin); Casey, Brianna, Ella, Sarah, Emberlie, Kaellias, Ruby, Olivia, Judson, Micaela; great-grandchild, Scarlett; sister, Dorothy Griffice; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; other extended family; dog, Mocha. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM with funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev.
