Robbye Faye Creel, 92, of Dawsonville, Georgia passed from this life on the evening of February 8th, 2025. Mrs. Creel was born on May 29th, 1932, in Haleyville, Alabama to her parents Lonnie and Laura Gravitt. She grew up in Parish, Alabama and attended college at Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University) in Montgomery, Alabama where she met her husband, Hollis. She is survived by her sisters, Sue Click and Dianne Fudge, and brothers, Bill Gravitt and Gene Gravitt, her sons, Larry Creel, Richard Creel and his wife Beth, and daughter, Benita Petty and her husband Robert, seven grandchildren (Dina and her husband Justin, Nicole and her husband Josh, Allison and her husband Jerry, Jillian and her husband Dale, Catherine and her husband Jake, Kelsey, Jackson and his wife Emily), and sixteen great-grandchildren (Bennett, Brooks, Evan, Tate, Garrett, Hadley, Declan, Miles, Elliott, Liv, Jett, Quinn, Hudson, Reagan, Hollis, and Cal). She was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hollis Creel, her parents Lonnie and Laura Gravitt, a sister, Evonne Calvert, and a brother, Wayne Gravitt. She was a dedicated preacher’s wife for 57 years. As a Christian, she diligently sought to do God’s will. Robbye was a legendary homemaker her whole life. She loved cooking, entertaining, gardening, and sewing. Though naturally reserved, she overcame her shyness and grew into a warm, approachable presence, having never met a stranger. As the oldest of 7, many of her siblings considered her to be a second Mom. When she had a family of her own, she tirelessly supported her husband and children in their endeavors, always putting them before herself. She was a loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother; her friendships were for life. Robbye’s celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 10AM, Service at 11AM.
