Richard David Duke, 78 of Bessemer, passed away May 21, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bealy David and Mellie Merchant Duke. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laverne Harrison Duke; son, Robert W. Duke (Karen); daughter, Paula Duke Scales (B.J.); grandchildren, Megan Duke, Cassidy Armstrong (Sam), Madison Williams (Matthew) and Marissa Scales; great granddaughter, Abigail Grace Armstrong; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the chapel with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Jimmy King officiating.
