Richard B. "Candyman" Adams Jr.
October 11, 1938 — January 25, 2025
Richard "Candyman" B. Adams, Jr. 86 of Pleasant Grove, Alabama passed away, January 25, 2025. Richard was born October 11, 1938 to the late Richard B. Adams, Sr. and Ruth E. Mounter Adams. He is also predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Elizabeth "Lisa" Adams Phillips and his wives, Judy Hawkins Adams and Mary Smith Adams. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Kathi Sloan Tanner (Steve) and his grandchildren, Elise Tanner (Jack) and Nicholas Tanner (Elonica).
Richard was a Senior substation designer at Alabama Power and retired after 29 years. He served on the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Banquet and Ceremony Committee for more than 20 years, and was a member of the Fairfield Elks Club for over 40 years. Richard was a very giving person and faithful servant at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God for over 20 years where he was nicknamed "Candyman" for always passing out candy at the church.
He also enjoyed golf, bowling, photography and was an avid Alabama fan.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God, 611 Pleasant Grove Rd, Pleasant Grove, Al 35127 on Thursday, January 30, 2025 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM with Bro. Larry Turner and Bro. John White officiating services. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
