Myrtle Jean DeFreese Shirley, 86 of Birmingham, Alabama passed away January 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lela DeFreese and her husband, Willie Shirley, Sr. She is survived by her sons, Willie Shirley, Jr (Debra), Roger Shirley, David Shirley (Nancy), Richard Shirley, Billy Shirley; daughter, Libby Hitchcock; twelve grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn DeFreese Hall; brothers, George W. DeFreese, Jr., Harry Lloyd DeFreese (Diane). Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim Henry officiating.
