Michael Alan Self

Michael Alan Self, of Hoover, passed away August 3, 2021 at the age of 62. He is was a long-time member of Hunter Street Baptist Church and of the Magic City Parrot Head Club. He was an avid Auburn Fan and loved tailgating with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Self, Sr.; wife, Darla Dean Self; and brother, Timothy W. Self. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Warrene Oden Self; daughters, Carley A. Sercovich (Chris) and Rachel A. Steadham (Ryan); mother, Glenda Brasher Self; grandchildren, Payton Steadham, Laytham Steadham, Foster Sercovich and Aleena Sercovich (on the way); brother, Charles H. Self, Jr. (Maxine); stepdaughters, Carrene Langlois and T.J. Langlois; cousin, Dian Perryman; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. A Celebration of life will be Friday, August 6, 2021 at Hunter Street Baptist Church Worship Center (2600 John Hawkins Parkway Hoover 35244) visitation will begin at 12:30 PM with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.
