Michael ‘Mike’ Joseph Kernan, 69, of Panama City Beach, FL passed away October 24, 2022, after a
battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
He was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. In the Ensley Highlands neighborhood. He was a Truck Driver most of his life. Which he loved. Mike was always a perfectionist in everything he did. He loved cars. Especially Corvettes. His little dogs were his children. He loved any animal and would not tolerate animal abuse. He was the type of person that would help anyone with anything he could. Then, you were his
friend forever.
He is preceded in death by his mother Clara Kollefrath Kernan and father William ‘Bill’ Kernan; Brothers: Charlie, Jimmy and John Thomas Kernan. Sister: Mary Jo Lankford; Step mother: Jean Kernan and step sister, Judy Trimm.
Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly Kernan, Panama City Beach; Son, Jason (Haley); Two grandchildren: Nicholas ‘Newt’ and Neely of Tuscaloosa; Sister, Margaret Kernan of Adamsville; One step-sister, Joyce Cornelius (Jack) of McCalla; Two sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews, from his family and Beverly’s. They thought that there was nothing like their ‘Uncle Mike: and so many friends that are too many to count.
Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at 12:00 PM, at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in
Pleasant Grove, AL. Visitation will be Sat. starting at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Burial will be at adjacent cemetery.
