Michael "Mickey" Little Welch

Michael "Mickey" Little Welch, 66, of McCalla, Alabama passed away July 23, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born to Eva May and Robert Little Welch on March 26, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama. "Mickey" was a member of the first graduating class of Pleasant Grove High School in 1973. Mickey married Lucretia R Edwards on July 9, 1976 following a friendship dating back to their 1st grade classroom. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucretia, parents, Robert and Eva, and sister Kathy. He is survived by his father-in-law, Harold R Edwards, brother, Wayne (Barbara), two sisters, Patsy (Joel) Stoves and Bobbi Tucker, and brother-in-law, Rike Edwards. Mickey is also survived by his children, their spouses, and their children: Clint, Connor, and Bronx Welch of Chelsea; Landon, Stephanie, and Ava Welch of McCalla; Nathan, Amanda, and Lucille Welch of Seattle, WA; Katelyn and Josh Grant of Washington, DC; granddaughter Madelyn Ellis and many nieces and nephews. Mickey valued faith and family above all else. He volunteered time in the church leading young men in bible study and serving as a deacon. Love for his wife was complete and unwavering. His memories were stolen in his final years, but he never forgot "Cretia". He took pride in providing for his family by working hard in the coal mines and at his own land surveying business. He will be remembered for his honesty, sweet disposition, contagious laugh, and grueling work ethic. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. at Garywood Assembly of God, 2730 Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive, Hueytown, Alabama 35023.
