Mary Helen Quade

Mary Helen McKay Quade, age 95 passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was born June 29, 1927 in Carbon Hill, AL to George C. McKay and Victoria Miles McKay. In September, 1947 she married John E. Quade (Buck) in Maryland where they lived until he retired. She was a faithful wife, mother and homemaker and a faithful member of Brooklane Baptist Church and very patriotic. They moved to Bessemer, AL in 1991. They were married over 50 years. She is survived by her children John E. Quade, Jr. and Carol Quade Rose. They have four grandsons, David Rice (Audra), Michael Rice, Daniel Maher (deceased) and T. J. Maher. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Verna Stovall and Verla Nichols and five brothers, Clayton McKay, George C. McKay, Jr., Rev. Charles McKay, Bobby Joe McKay and Jerry Tim McKay. Also she has ten nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Crystal Hall, Pastor Fritz Harter and her neighbor and close friend Nell Carter and the staff at Caregivers of Pleasant Grove for their faithful care.
