Marshall L. Sherrill, 84, of Woodstock, Alabama passed away March 3, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brady Sherrill, Loudell Sherrill; brother, Morrell Sherrill. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sherrill; son, David Sherrill; daughters, Kathy Hall (Carl), Sherry Faulkner; sister, Gaby Salter (Don); sister-n-law, Roberta McComb (Doug); brothers, Michael Sherrill, Steve Sherrill (Joyce); 12 wonderful grandchildren, 36 amazing great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM at Green Pond Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Carl Hall and Pastor Steve Sherrill officiating. Pallbearers will be Brad Faulkner, Corey Faulkner, Christopher Hall, Joseph Hall, Adam Chesser, Jordan Sherrill, Josh Sherrill, and Tim McCrory. Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Sylvan Springs, members of Maytown Baptist Church and Katherwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Affinity Hospice or St. Jude.
Marshall was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His compassionate heart made him always ready to help others around him. He was always a friend to the downtrodden and discouraged. Marshall always saw the silver lining in every cloud that passed over his life. Of the many things he enjoyed throughout his life, some favorites were gardening, Auburn football, coaching baseball, basketball and softball, driving the church bus, playing the nose flute, and making hubcap decorations. He loved his family and always encouraged them to be faithful to the Lord by his words and his Christian testimony. Marshall will be missed by many, but we know that Heaven is much sweeter since his arrival.
