Marcele Chatham Mccay

Mary Marcele Chatham McCay, of Hueytown, passed on August 13, 2021, at the age of 90. She was the last surviving charter member of North Highland Baptist Church. She retired as the Assistant Tax Collector for Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Myrtle Chatham; husband of 55 years, Thomas M. McCay; son-in-law, John V. Deacy; and sis-in-law, Janette Chatham. She is survived by her daughters, Julia Ann Deacy, Vicki Dempsey and Beth McCay; stepson, Thomas McCay (Judy); stepdaughter, Becky Sims; brothers, James E. Chatham and William J. Chatham (Diane); grandchildren, Vic Deacy (Robin), Eric Kilgore (Jamie), Vince Deacy (Jessica), Aaron Watkins, Tammy Bennett, Jenny Jones, Alan Sims (Jenny) and Lindsay Graves; 22 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM and burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Michael Wallace officiating.
