Macon M. Horne Jr., 86, of Hueytown, AL passed away on August 9, 2018, in Athens, AL.
Services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018. The visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at Noon. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Memorial Gardens with Wes Brown Officiating.
Macon M. Horne, Jr., a man of God, was born in Bessemer, AL to Macon M. Horne, Sr. and Frances Anthony Horne on June 5, 1932. He married Clara Olive Horne on August 29, 1952, in Bessemer, AL. He was an Army veteran and served as a mechanic in the Korean War. However, Macon is most remembered by family and friends for his service to his Lord and his example as a child of God.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Horne; sons, Macon Horne, III, Kevin Horne and wife Jodi, and Brent Horne and wife Kim; grandchildren, Eric Horne and wife Isabel, Luke Horne, Garrett Horne and wife Amber, Lauren Horne Johnson and husband Breck, and Abby Horne; also, four great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Cordle; and brother, Don Horne and wife Carol.
