Lonnie L. Creel Jr.

Lonnie L. Creel, 78 of Hueytown, Alabama passed away February 2, 2024. Lonnie retired from Alabama Power Company after 27 years. He was a leader with the Boy Scouts of America for 12 plus years. He was an avid Auburn fan "War Eagle" and he loved his fur baby Bear. Lonnie was also known for being "The Sockman" at the Bessemer Flea market while selling socks there for years. He is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie L. Creel, Sr.; mother, Iona Creel; wife, Paulette Creel; son, Chad Myers. He is survived by his loving partner of 15 years, Lynn Myers; sons, Greg Creel (Bernice), Ben Creel (Rhonda); daughter, Christie Ezekiel by (Ricky); Daughter in-law Marisa Myers; grandchildren, Adam Creel (Nina), Ryan Creel (Kaci), Jennifer Siskoff (Jon), Athena Venable, Katrina Morgan, Karina Clever, Jessica Ezekiel, Katelynn Ezekiel, Camden Myers, Cooper Myers, Wrigley Myers, Shea Myers; great grandchildren, Kathleen Creel, Elliott Creel, Caroline Creel, Lily Creel, Jacelynn Siskoff, Jaylynn Siskoff, Jonathan Siskoff, Devin Jones, Danielle Jones, Dakota Jones, Megan Venable, Rojena Clever, Lucas Clever. Visitation will be Monday, February 5, 2024, 10:30AM-12:00PM with the funeral service beginning at 12:00PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Ascension at Home Health care and the UAB Palliative and Comfort Care Unit.
