Linda Gail Hamner Maloy
September 13, 1953 — November 26, 2023
Linda Gail Hamner Maloy, born September 13, 1953, ended her earthly journey to be with her Savior on November 26, 2023. Linda was raised in Hueytown, Alabama, and graduated from Hueytown High School in 1971. She was a Birmingham-based television news anchor in the 1970s. Linda earned her BA degree from UAB while raising her children. She was one of the few Alabama women real estate appraisers in the 1980s through the mid-2000s. She fiercely loved her family, friends and animals of all kinds.
Linda was a devout member of the Roman Catholic church and was actively involved in the Ministry of the Word at several parishes and diocesan Cursillo activities for many years.
She is survived by her sons Brian Geoffrey Maloy (Jamie) and David Zachary Maloy, her mother Robbie Higginbotham, her sister Brenda Joyce Hamner, and her many friends who have offered their prayers and support during her life. She leaves behind her two loving puppies, Nadine and Phoebe who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be at 12 noon and funeral at 1 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood, AL. A family graveside service will follow at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home and Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover, AL.
