Laverne Sims Stevens

Mrs. Laverne Sims Stevens, 87, of Hueytown, Al went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was at home, surrounded by her family whom she loved so much. She is preceded in death by her husband. Eugene M. Stevens and her parents Lemuel and Zonie Sims. Her survivors include three children: Steve (Judy) Stevens, Rodney (Kathy) Stevens, Susan (Lee) Anthony, all of Hueytown; six grandchildren: Brad (Alison) Stevens, Tammy (Michael) Pickens, Mike (Erin) Stevens, Samantha (Brandon) Todd, Adam (Jessica) Stevens, Sarah (Nick) Naramore; twelve great-grandchildren: Skyler Stevens, John Michael Pickens, Nathan Todd, Landon Pickens, Victoria Benson, Isabella Stevens, Ryleigh Stevens, Sawyer Stevens, Jace Stevens, Harper Naramore, Sam Stevens, Ella Stevens; one sister-in-law Louise Hammonds of Chattanooga, and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stevens was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church up until her death. She served her Lord every day by serving her family and church friends throughout the community. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Forest Grove Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove. The family requests masks and social distancing for those in attendance.
