Kenneth Everett Parmley was born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 24, 1952. He passed away on May 2nd, 2023 at 70 years old. Kenneth was 6'2", towering over most and if you didn't know him might think he was intimidating. But he was the opposite. He was the ultimate story-teller and and incredible salesman. He had the gift of gab, and never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone and everyone, no matter their station in life, and tried to put a smile on every person's face he crossed paths with.
Kenneth was a MASTER BUILDER. He did home remodeling and home building. He was so efficient and excellent at it in fact, that even though they weren't supposed to, the inspectors who inspected the work before it could have a permit to continue would send him referrals. Kenneth was an avid horseman for many years and absolutely loved quarter horse racing. He owned and raced horses for decades, telling many loved ones that it was his favorite thing when it came to animals.
He enjoyed playing his guitar, especially to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Johnny Winters. He always loved music, but especially the blues.
He LOVED to eat great food, but certain restaurants were the best in his book. He loved seafood and some of his favorite places included Superior Grill, Pappadeaux, the Levy in Tuscaloosa, and Pappasito's in Houston (pretty much ALL the Pappas restaurants!).
Most importantly, Kenneth loved the Lord. He became a Christian about 30 plus years ago. He received a kidney transplant 28 years ago, and is now in heaven, with no kidney problems at all!
He is survived by his son, Shane Parmley; his daughter, Esther Gausepohl; his stepson, James Arendale, his daughter-in-law, Amy Arendale; his granddaughter, Eila Arendale, and his loving life partner of 30 years, Rose Arendale. A Celebration of life service will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral home. Visitation will be from 1:00PM-2:00PM with the service beginning at 2:00PM.
