Karen Denise Mccroskey

Karen Denise McCroskey, 57, of Hueytown, AL, passed away November 2nd, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Denise was born on July 5th, 1966, in Birmingham, AL. After graduating from Hueytown High School in 1984, she applied an Early Childhood Education master's degree from UAB in 25+ years of teaching at Concord Elementary and the Union Hill Baptist Church children's ministry. She was also an organist at Union Hill and Concord Highland Baptist Church for several years. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, traveling, and family time, and lived warmly and joyfully with deep faith in her Lord.
Denise was preceded in death by her father, William T. "Buddy" Kirkland, her sister-in-law, Joyce Waid, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Faulkner. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Keith, and her son, Cameron; her mother, Betty Faye Kirkland; one brother, William Randall (Deeya) Kirkland; her sister-in-law Robin Faulkner; her nephews Brandon Kirkland (Lauren), Brett Kirkland, Jeremy Faulkner (Perri), Skyler Faulkner, and Trent Faulkner (Becca); her nieces Lindsay McIlroy (Ryan) and Whitney Waid; her great-nieces Zoey Kirkland, Lilah McIlroy, and Harper Kate Faulkner; her great-nephews Bryant Sharp, Owen McIlroy, Riley McIlory; and scores of other friends and family.
Graveside services will occur at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 6th, at Patterson-Forest Grove Cemetery, located at 1498 5th Ave in Pleasant Grove, AL.
