Julia Catherine Franklin

Julia Catherine (Luna) Franklin, 80, of Hueytown, Alabama, while surrounded by family, peacefully left this earth for her heavenly home on April 21, 2023. Julia was a devoted wife, loving mother and amazing Mimi. Her smile and sense of humor would bring light and laughter to any situation. She never received any college degrees or special awards, but succeeded in life in so many other ways. She dedicated time to the people in her life without asking for anything in return. She had the strength of a warrior no matter what life threw her way. Her heart wasn't strong enough to allow her to stay on this earth, but her legacy of selflessness and whole hearted love will live forever.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jackie Elton Franklin; father, Joe Paul Luna; mother, Edith Catherine Harlow; brothers, Joe and Wayne Luna. She is survived by her son, Jackie Wayne Franklin (Janet); two daughters, Tina Yvette King and Brandie Michelle Franklin; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Luna (Carol); sister, Myra Stinnett and a multitude of family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that you carry on Julia's heart for contributing to St. Jude's Hospital, The American Heart Association or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
