Judy Claytor, of Rock Mountain Lakes, better known as Mia to her family, was born in Virginia Mines on January 18, 1944. She passed away September 8, 2024, at the age of 80. During her younger years, while being a hairdresser, she collected and sold antiques. Judy loved the Lord and was active in her church. She also loved her family. She enjoyed seeing her nieces and nephews; watching them grow and then have families of their own. Wherever Judy was, there was always an adventure to be had and a project to start. She is preceded in her death by her parents, Sam Smith and Violet Corvin Smith, of Virginia Mines; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor Davis and Newton Davis. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marvin Claytor; her only granddaughter, Ella Grace Davis who is the daughter of Tim and Rhonda Davis; brother, Kenneth Smith; sister-in-law, Florence Smith; her beloved Bichon Frise, Bubba Claytor; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She loved family time, a good meal with laughter, making plans for mountain or beach trips. To know her was to love her and she was truly an angel sent by the Lord. Judy's lasting impression on her family will be felt for many generations due to her humbleness, love, care and pure joy. Please continue to pray for her family during this difficult time. Graveside service will be held at Valley Creek Cemetery, Hueytown, AL, Sept.11, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Bro. Kenneth Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to Grace Place.
