Jerry Alan Gill, 55, of Sylvan Springs, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Alan was born on June 22, 1969, at Fayette County Hospital. He was the first of two children born to Jerry and Pat Gill. Alan graduated from Hueytown High School in 1987. After high school, Alan served in both the Air Guard and National Guard. He then went on to work as an EMT before he began his career at Nucor Steel in 1992. Alan worked many positions at Nucor and was a hardworking dedicated employee.

At the age of 26, Alan married the love of his life, Christine Marcum Gill, of Concord, Alabama. They had two children, Alana and Brody. They made their permanent home in Rock Creek, Alabama. Alan made the greatest decision of his life at 14 when he was baptized into Christ. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Alan had many hobbies including flying planes, fishing, hunting, was an avid golfer, loved shooting, karate and loved playing the guitar. Alan enjoyed reading & learning about History. He loved the beach and loved spending time with his family there. Alan lost the love of his life on February 24, 2024, to cancer. He spent the remainder of his life trying his best to love and support their children. Alan always knew even in the toughest of circumstances that God was in control. He leaned on that. He taught his children that. He lived through that principle every day of his life.

He was preceded in death by his best friend and loving wife, Christine Marcum Gill. He is survived by his parents Jerry and Pat Gill of Concord, his children Alana (fiancé, Nicholas Everett) and Brody Gill, his sister, Kristina Maddox (Brian), and his nieces Sydney Maddox Morrison (Austin) and Bayley Maddox.
