Janice Ann Whatley

Janice Ann Whatley, 71, went to be with her Savior on January 12th 2021 after a long and difficult struggle with kidney cancer. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Phillip Whatley; daughters, Jessica Ann Whatley, Summer Nicole Whatley; and son, Brandon Alexander Whatley. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Jean Thurman; brothers, Edward Louis Perkins and Roger Hendon Perkins; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Minor High School Class of 1968 and attended UAB. She worked at Protective Life Insurance, Loveman's, Walmart, and Big Lots as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed volunteer work, crocheting and was one of the biggest fans of Star Trek. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove. Graveside services will be Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Patterson Forest Grove Memorial Gardens - Masks are required and social distancing will be in place.
