James Ralph (J.R.) Howard

A lifelong resident of the Birmingham area, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9. Mr. Howard was a decorated US Army Korean War veteran and retired from US Steel. He was a devoted father, grand and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Alma Howard and by his wife of 64 years, Ann Marie Studinka Howard. He is survived by his sister, Joan Howard Cody, son Doug (Debbie) and daughter Linda Howard, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, October 14, 2021 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with the funeral beginning at 1:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will be Friday, October 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
