J. B. Hannah

James Balous Hannah (JB) of Hueytown, AL entered his Heavenly home on October 5, 2023 at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Hazel Hannah, Brother: Jerry Hannah, Sister and brother in law: Doris and Melvin Lamons. He leaves behind a loving wife of 54 years, Janet Chastant Hannah, Sister, Brenda (Terrell) Smitherman, Two children, Tammy (Joe) Carter, Jay (Jennifer) Hannah, three grandchildren, David (Lauren) Miller, Katelynn (Daniel) Williams, and Matthew Hannah, two great grandchildren Brayden and Harper Williams as well as many extended family and friends who will miss him greatly.


JB was passionate about sports. He loved Alabama football and enjoyed coaching softball in his younger years. JB was a perfectionist when it came to many things in life, but especially his yard work. He could often be seen cutting grass multiple times a week to keep it looking immaculate. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his days seated on his back porch in the sun, watching his neighbors and the birds. Hunting and fishing were also a favorite pastime of his and he loved to enjoy it with his children and grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Patterson - Forest Grove Funeral Home (1498 5th Ave, Pleasant Grove, AL 35127) The family will receive visitors at 1:00PM with services at 2:00PM with burial following at adjoining cemetery.
