George "Bucky" William Dement Jr.

George "Bucky" William Dement, Jr. of Birmingham who was born to George William, Sr. and Myrtyl Isbell Dement on October 14, 1949 and passed away on September 10, 2022. He is survived by his daughter, Meleigha Renae Carter and his son, Jason Zane Dement (Jessica). His grandchildren Mia Elaine and Garrett Steven Carter (McKenzie) and Zane Austin and Shaun William Dement. He recently became a great grandfather to Theodore "Teddy" Steven Carter. Also, his ex-wife, Debi D. Hornsby; his best friend of 33 years, Steve Chesser, a host of extended family and friends. Meleigha would like to extend a very special thank you to Stachia with Compassus Hospice. She went above and beyond and is a true friend. Bucky loved Alabama football, Rod Stewart, Panama City Beach, making people smile and laugh. Most of all, he loved his family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation in his name. There will be a private celebration of his life at a later date.
