Eugene Garrett, Jr., 75, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 17, 2022. He was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High. And he was employed by Chrysler Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan, and a retiree from Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. He is the son of the late Annie Boykin Garrett. His father, Eugene Garrett, Sr., and sister, Brenda Garrett Lewis, preceded him in death.
He is survived by brothers, George Edward Garrett (BeAnn) and Freddie Leon Garrett (Josephine); sisters, Rhonda Rene Garrett Allen and Verna Danita Garrett; nephews, Henderson Alexander (Mary Hosley), Redford Michigan, Marcus Cargill, Detroit Michigan, G’Juan E. Garrett, Brandon D. Lewis, Birmingham, Alabama. Nieces, La’Rhonda Renee Garrett Wheelington (Chadd), St. Louis, Missouri, Tamera Garrett Jones (Quincey), Houston, Texas, Dr. Kristen Allen Watts (Deaushay), and Kaitlin Allen Walden (Ross) of Hoover, Alabama; great-nephews; Aaron Taylor (Essence) and Alexander Harvey of St. Louis, Missouri, Brandon Coleman, Julian Watts; great-nieces; Chrishelle Nicole Alexander and Breanna Renae Alexander, Detroit, Michigan, Ajanae Deanna Alexander, Oak Park, Michigan, Meagan Jones; aunt; Mabel Boykin, Henrico, Virginia; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. The visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Family Hour is from 5-6 PM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 30 at noon in the chapel. Rev. Freddie L. Garrett is officiating.
