Dorothy Pauline Parker

Dorothy Pauline Parker, 92, of Pleasant Grove, Alabama went to her heavenly home December 29, 2021. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mother loved her family immensely, and anytime they were all together was her favorite of times. She loved to travel with family and was ready to pack when ever someone mentioned "GO". Mother was Pleasant Grove’s "Good Samaritan" always visiting the elderly in nursing homes and bringing individuals without family to her table. Her home was open to everyone, the gathering place for all of us. She never wanted anyone to be alone. Among many, many wonderful memories, we will carry with us, will be our mother reading her Bible daily before laying down each evening. She prayed daily for her family and trusted God's grace to carry them throughout life. Our hearts are broken, our lives forever changed, but we were so Blessed to have our mother for so many years. God has been good to us all. We are thankful for pains of her physical body will no longer effect our precious mother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Holland Rickles; husband, Clarence Ellison Parker; siblings, Ronald, Donald, Emily, Betty, Virginia and Louise. She is survived by her son, Buddy Parker (April); daughters, Charlotte Pinegar, Hilda Johnson (Jerry), Joyce Smith (Lee); grandchildren, Marlon Messer (Amy), David Messer, Chris Smith (Shanna), Brian Smith (April), Matt Johnson (Jessica), Edie Pinegar (Todd), Eddie Pinegar (Rachel), Heather Parker and Heath Parker; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers, Buck Rickles and David Rickles (Betty Lou); sister-in-law, Peggy Rickles; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2022 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Cemetery across from the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Scott Douglas officiating.
