Curtis Lee Murray, 70 of Bessemer, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023. He was born September 4, 1953 to Johnie and Nettie Murray in Franklin County Alabama. Curtis owned and operated Murray's Asphalt Paving for 45 years. He had lots of hobbies some of which were collecting and restoring antique cars and guns and he had a very large collection of boots.
Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Assembly from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 22, 2023 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Bobby Simmons, Rev. Larry Turner and Rev. John White officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery in Bessemer, Alabama. Masonic Rites will be pallbearers.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Hazel Candy Murray; sister, Sue Ann Jones; son, Jeff (Tina) Murray; daughters, Amy Roberson (Glen), Candy Tubbs (JR), Lisa Neal (Donald).
Grandchildren, Ezzie Harrison, Hunter Murray, Satiny McNeal, Carl Broadway, Gage Roberson, Noah Broadway, Amber Harrison, Jade Roberson, Hazel Broadway; 12 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Nettie Murray; brother, Arrie Murray; a special brother-in-law, David Jones; 2 grandchildren, Monica Ashley Murray and Scarlett Cornell.
