Charles "Pat" Patrick Suell was born on July 26, 1940 in the Blassberg area of Birmingham, Alabama to Floyd Suell and Elizabeth Kelly Suell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Billie Jo Suell and his parents. He is survived by his son, Michael "Mike" Suell; granddaughter, Marissa Suell Drake (Chris); one great grandson, Brendon Drake; brother, Doug Suell (Carol) of Houston, TX; sister, LouAnn Suell Compton (Steve) of South Carolina; and many other cousins and friends. Pat was reared in the Central Park area of Birmingham and attended Ensley High School. He was a bricklayer by trade. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He and BIllie Jo made their home in the Rock Creek Community for 30+ years. He was an avid racing fan and competed in amateur stock car racing. He enjoyed motorcycles and restoring vintage automobiles. He owned and operated ARC refractories. Following his retirement he spent many happy hours in his garage (called the barn) building and restoring vintage cars. He made many of the parts needed in these restorations and would spend hours perfecting a part. He and Billie Jo often attended vintage car shows. Friends would come by the barn to visit with him sometimes enjoying lunch together. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on October 4, 2024 at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, Alabama and he will be entombed in the mausoleum there. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers consider a contribution to St. Judes or a charity of your choice. Pat will be missed by his family and many dear friends.
