Billy Crumpton

Mr. Billy Ray Crumpton, 77, of McCalla, AL passed away October 11, 2022 at UAB West in Bessemer, AL surrounded by family and friends Mr. Crumpton was a retired machinist from US Steel in Fairfield, AL. He was so loved and admired by so many people for his tough work ethic and easy going spirit. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cywilla Carol Crumpton; daughter, Sherri Lee Crumpton Herbowy; step-sons, Michael Shivers, Richard Shivers (Julie) and Lance Shivers (Starla); grandson, Jacob Lee DeVine; step-grandchildren, Ashley Maheu, Austin Shivers, Matthew Shivers, Dustin Shivers; sister, Mary Foster (Jerry) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Ray Crumpton; parents, Ocie Chandler Crumpton and Kate Blocker Crumpton; sisters, Peggy Brown (Joseph), Joan Johnston (Clayton), Ollie Faye Gardener (Tex), Margaret Alice Browning (Sam), Johnny Sue Byrd (Kenny), Katie Louise Sims (Gary), Bobby Dean McKinsley (Cliff), brother, Wallace Chandler Crumpton (Ann). Funeral arrangements will be at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home in Pleasant Grove, AL on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Harold McClendon officiating.
