Betty Jo Bousack Profile Photo
Betty Jo Bousack, age 89, of Pleasant Grove gained her angel wings when she passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2022.
She was a full time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a well-loved member of Maytown Baptist Church and the Naomi Class. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club and the Wylam Alumni.
She dearly loved her family, extended family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with them at her home in Pleasant Grove and at her house on Smith Lake. There was always a full house on the holidays and it brought her joy having everyone all together. Generous in nature, she was always there when needed. She hosted numerous wedding showers for her nieces and grandchildren and devoted much of her lifetime to caring for her grandchildren when they were young.
She was considered a wonderful cook and no one ever left her home hungry. She was often requested to make her delicious chicken and dumplings and broccoli salad for church events, and her grandchildren loved her homemade stew and looked forward to making cookies and cheese straws with her on holidays.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 loving years, Earl Bousack; sisters, Fannie Crow and Mildred Macon; brothers, Leon Gillion and James Gillion; and son-in-law, Phillip Reaves.
Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Moore (Bill), Patricia Reaves, and Sandra Ratliff (Mike); four grandchildren, Amanda Toxey (Eric) and Allison Clevenger (Austin), Andrea Reaves (James Jones) and Clayton Reaves (Cristina); one great grandson, Michael Clevenger; one sister-in-law, Shirley Scherer and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home.
