Anita Brown Salter
January 11, 1951 — February 29, 2024
Anita Brown Salter, age 73, of Hueytown, Alabama entered glory with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 29, 2024. Born January 11, 1951, she was the best Mom and “Nana” her children, grandkids and great grandkids could ever have.
Anita worked with the Jefferson County Health Department and later retired after 12 years with the Jefferson County Sherriff’s office. Anita loved her church Grant Street Baptist Church where she was a member for 25 years. She taught children’s church and VBS, helped cook in the kitchen and was involved in Women’s Ministry.
Anita loved to shop, take trips to the mountains with her family, and loved to make sweets as much as she liked to eat them! Anita was loved by everyone and was the sweetest person you could ever meet.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin E. Brown and Lorene Brown. She is survived by her husband of 55 wonderful years, Bobby D. Salter; children Sherry Lovejoy, Vickie Cannon (Robert Morris), and Debbie Myrick (Greg). She has 7 amazing grandchildren, Tammy Posey, Kenny Perry, Brittney Wallace (Garrett), Shanon Cannon (Chad), Wade Myrick (Christyn), Ben Myrick, Nick Myrick (Catrina). She also has 10 beautiful great grandchildren. Anita is also survived by her three siblings, brother, Marvin R. Brown of Conyers, GA and two sisters Pat Kirkwood, and Bobbie Hufham (Don). Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, 10:00AM-11:00AM with the funeral service beginning at 11:00AM at Patterson Forest Grove Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery Forest Grove Memorial Gardens. Bro. Jeff Hughes officiating.
