Lynn Bruce Woolsteen
Lynn Bruce Woolsteen, age 80, passed away on Feb. 19, 2015. He was born in Peoria, IL. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from West End High School where he played football, including a state play-off game against Bart Starr. He retired from Bellsouth with 43 years of service and served in the Marines and the Navy Seabees for 31 years. He attended Grace Church Bessemer. His friendly demeanor and kind disposition will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Louise Woolsteen, brothers Douglas and Roger and grandson, Chance Ezelle. Lynn is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra DeVenyns Woolsteen; Children: Tommy Woolsteen (Robbie), Tami Moore, Valerie Carroll (LaBron), Vicki Schuman (Karl), Sandy Smith, Lisa Fagan (Daniel; 10- grandchildren and 3- great grandchildren; sisters: June Ray (Mark), Joy Perry, Linda Bowman (Danny) and brother: Terry Woolsteen. Visitation will be at 12:00 P.M. on Feb. 23, 2015 at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. With a memorial service to follow at 1:00 PM, Patterson- Forest Grove Funeral Home Chapel with entombment at Currie Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Grace Church, Bessemer, AL. 4500 Katie's Way, Suite 600, Bessemer, AL. 35022.
