My dearest Carissa, Matt and Wendi, Only time can make the pain a little easier. Poppa was such a good man to all of you, his love, his kind gestures and his fun stories. A mentor to my son and the father of my beloved daughter in law. Leon, you will be missed more than you know. Send gentle love to our family and to Pat. God speed buddy!

In our darkest days we must remember the light. Leon always had a smile, never to show any pain, a true fighter in every sense of the word. I remember explaining to Carissa the importance of Veterans Day, for people like Leon, who served our county to fight for our freedoms, today Leon shall be honored, for being a strong man, dedicated to his family, today he walks with Jesus, without his pain, without his cane, out there fishing in the beautiful lakes of heaven, watching over his family. While you grieve, he is feeling better than ever, but will be with you in spirit to comfort you as these dark days pass
