Homer Bassett Curtis
age 95, passed away July 9, 2012. He was born January 18, 1917 and lived in Birmingham most of his life. He was a veteran of the Air Force and proudly served his country in World War II and the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jewell Parks Curtis. Survivors are his two daughters, Linda Neal and Janine Curtis. Grandchildren: Bridget Parsons, Shane (Macy) Beard, Sherri Davidson, and Paul Davidson. Great-grandchildren: Chandler Parsons, Madison Parsons, Cole Beard, and Morgan Beard. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 11 at 12:00 PM at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Faye Keith and Pam Gooding, while he was at home, as well as the nurses at East Glen Nursing Home and Bill Nichols State Veterans Home.
