Betty Jo McDonald

Jo McDonald, age 79, of Pleasant Grove, went home to be with her Lord on May 22, 2012 following an extended illness. Mrs. McDonald wsas a native of Cullman, AL. Her family moved to Pleasant Grove when she was five, and later to the Wylam community. She returned to Pleasant Grove when she married in 1950. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and the Amazing Grays Choir. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward E. and Annie Lou Bailey; her brother, Talmadge Bailey; her sisters, Eloise Campbell, Gwinda Bennett, Erin Burgess, Jimmie Holder, Imogene Myers, and her step-grandson, Brent Bass. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, of 62 years, George McDonald, her children;Darrell McDonald, Jennie Phillips (Edward), Russell McDonald (Regina), and Luann Higginbotham (Barry); her grandchildren, Taylor and Trevor Phillips; her step-grandchildren, Brooke Watson (Josh) and Eric Higginbotham (Amanda); and step-great-grandchildren, Brentley Watson, Logan Watson, and Lily Higginbotham. She also leaves many special relatives and friends. Services for Mrs. McDonald will be Friday, May 25, 2012 at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home at 2:00P.M. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. on Friday, May, 25, 2012. Memorial gifts may be sent in her name to The Amazing Grays, First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove.

To the McDonald Family: Although I never met most of you, I have heard many stories of family gatherings and about the ties that bring you all together. Jo was often included in these stories as she was such a big part of your lives. I know she will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies.
