Ronald T. Dudley Jr.
Ron Dudley, Jr. 54, stepped from earth into heaven on November 16, 2016. He was born on March 24, 1962 to Ron, Sr. and Carol Dudley in Birmingham, Alabama. Ron is survived by his wife, Lisa, children, Bethany and Joshua, parents, Ron and Carol Dudley and brother , Jon Dudley, uncle, Pat (Rosemary) Carney, San Antonio, Texas, Father-in-law & Mother-in-law Harold and Marie Kelley, sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Kalani & Brett Garrett, 3 nieces and 3 nephews, and many other extended family members & friends. He graduated from Resource Learning Center High School, Homewood, AL in 1980, Birmingham Southern College in 1984 and Cumberland School of Law in 1987. Ron worked as a clerk for the Supreme Court of Alabama and practiced law at Environmental Litigation, Birmingham, Alabama. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother who loved his family dearly and a dedicated Christian man who devoted much of his time working sound at the churches he attended during his lifetime. He also gave much time and effort to helping people with legal needs and volunteered time to Teen Challenge of Alabama. He was passionate about life and learning, loved history - especially World War II history, was an avid reader and researcher on many and varied subjects. He had a love for all things genealogy and spent many a vacation tromping through old cemeteries. His favorite TV show was The Andy Griffith Show, most episodes he had watched so many times, he could quote them. He was funny, with a dry sense of humor, could talk intelligently about almost any subject and was an all-around wonderful guy who had many, many friends who will miss him greatly. Above all, Ron was a committed Christian who loved the Lord and lived his life for the Lord. Services will be at Garywood Assembly of God, 2730 Allison Bonnett Memorial Drive, Hueytown, Alabama on Saturday, November 19, 2016, visitation 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Celebration of Life Service 1:00 PM, Interment Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, Alabama.
