Edgar D. May
formerly a resident of Pleasant Grove, AL, went home to be with his Lord on September 7, 2016. He was born in Fayette County, but grew up in Winfield where he was quarterback on Winfield High's football team in 1953-1954. He served with the United States Army in the U.S. and Germany 1958-1960. Ed retired from U.S. Steel, Fairfield Works, in 1994 after 38 years of service. He loved to fish, golf and was a big fan of The Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove where he served his Lord faithfully as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Ed was preceded in death by his father and mother, Freeman and Elizabeth May, sister, Beatrice Mayfield, brothers, Hershel and Louie Joe May. Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Cotney May, daughters, Martha (Barry) Patrick and Ellen (Steve) Dailey; son, David (Niki) May; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; one brother, Kenneth (Betty Ann) May; and one sister, Juanita (Al) Voci.

Arrangements are as follows; Visitation Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Service at 12:00 P.M. with graveside following. All directed by and held at Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home and Gardens, 1498 5th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, AL 35127.
