Betty Taylor Maynord
Betty Taylor Maynord, 91, of Hueytown, died Sunday, June 5, 2016. Born in Nauvoo, Alabama on June 10, 1924, Betty was the daughter of the late Boyd and Stella Taylor (Barrentine). She graduated from Walker High School in 1943 and worked at the Alabama Dry Dock & Shipbuilding Company in Mobile during World War II, before moving to Hueytown to raise her family. She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Maynord of Hueytown; one sister, Camellia (K.D. Huey) of Curry; three daughters, Cindy (Gary Jones), Terry (Don Knighten), and Kelly (Shane Adamson); two grandchildren, Misty Jones and Molly (Klay Henderson); two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kendall, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her stepfather, Carlos Barrentine; three brothers, Boyd Taylor, Buel Barrentine and David Barrentine; three sisters, Pearline Sanders, Delphine Vines, and Mavie Evans; and other loved ones, including her aunt, Minnie Helton. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Self Rehab Center in Hueytown for taking such good care of our mother. Funeral services will be held at Patterson – Forest Grove Funeral Home, 1498 5th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Visitation for the public will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 6/7/16, with the funeral following at 11:00. Pastor David Wooten of New Life Assembly of God will officiate.
