Clarence William Pratt Sr.

Clarence William Pratt, Sr of River Bend Alabama passed away at his home Monday April 25th, 2016. He was a graduate of Bibb County High School; he received his Bachelor’s degree from Northeast in Monroe Louisiana and received his Masters from the University of Alabama. William was a true Christian patriot, he loved God his country and his family. William entered the Navy during WWII at the age of fifteen also served his country in the Korean conflict. One of his proudest accomplishments was being deemed a “blue nose sailor” when he went to the North Pole. During his naval service he traveled extensively including Greece, Italy, Turkey and Spain. William loved education and was the principal of West Blocton Elementary School and Boothville Venice High School, in Louisiana. Along with a career in education, William was a successful businessman including Pratt Motor Company, the Real Estate Book and land sales and development. William was the most positive and uplifting gentleman; he saw the best in any situation.William was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Bettye Crosby Pratt, brothers Leonard Callaway Pratt and Frances David Pratt. He is survived by his daughter Janice Pratt Blake (Gary) his son Clarence William Pratt, Jr., Five grandchildren Brian H. Blake(Courtney) Candice Blake Broder (Reid) Christopher Pratt Blake (Jackie) Jacob William Pratt and Savannah Skye Pratt, also 2 great grandchildren Sadie Grace Blake and Bryan Wesly Blake. As he was so fond of saying, “life goes on”. Mr. Pratt will have services at Schultz Creek Baptist Church in West Blocton, AL. The visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. The funeral will be on Thursday morning at 11:00. Burial will also be at Schultz Creek Baptist following the service. Bro. Ben Corley and Bro. Ken Blake officiating.
